The Chocolate Hills is a geological formation in Bohol. There are at least 1,260 hills covered in green grass that turns brown (like chocolate) during the dry season, hence the name.
They are featured in the provincial flag and seal to symbolize the abundance of natural attractions in the province. In fact they have been declared the country’s third National Geological Monument and proposed for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
There are about 300 species of butterflies found in Bohol and over half are found at The Butterflies Sanctuary. Its wide garden makes it easy for the butterflies to roam freely and breed while its rich variety of flowers makes everyday a nectar feast.
Have a guided tour of the butterfly habitat that is really a fun way for people of all ages to get to know more of these beautiful, fleeting creatures.
A very special boat picnic
Discover the best quiet spots on the island! Our small "banca" native boat is just a charmingly local way to do so for a pleasant day of exploration with a picnic basket on board, mind you.
Pull into the shore of some hidden nice white beaches which are only accessible from the water because of the thick lush undergrowth inland and enjoy the tranquility of having all that beauty and nature for yourself. Only ten minutes away from the hotel, you could already discover these little nooks of paradise of white sand, lapping clear blue water and lush green bushes that soften the rock boulders that often stand like citadels.
The organization behind this ecological project is a non-profit one that supports the conservation of the philippine tarsier and its habitat by providing the endangered specie with a secondary home of a rich forest that is filled with a wide variety of flora and fauna.
The tarsier is a small animal, no larger than an adult man's hand and it is so still and quiet that you'd think it is a stuffed toy.
It is a marvelous marine reserve that provides home to a great number of fish species that going snorkeling and diving in its waters is feasting your eyes to a wonderful array of color and form.
The boat tour on this river is a charming and rustic experience, one that is absolutely filipino from the buffet spread of popular filipino dishes to the singer belting out songs while you partake of your lunch and the quaint scenery on the banks. It stops though for some moments at some landing points where some children would greet you with songs and dance that are just so entertaining and infectious that often, you couldn't help dancing with them.
Our sunny and cozy restaurant offers our guests a compact yet well-varied menu with dishes that could please both asian and western palates with their home-cooked touch and the taste and scent of fresh herbs from our garden.
Enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view of the island from this high point of our place especially when the sun is just rising or even at sunset when the sea and sky blends in a delicate palette of violet and orange tones.
But on a starry night, our terrace could serve a much more romantic end as having that candlelit dinner while the glittering light from the stars and the boats out in the water though beautiful to gaze at, could never compete with your loved one's ardent look across the table.
Our sunny and cozy restaurant offers to our guests a compact yet tasteful menu.
Ranging from our traditional filipino favorites such as the "humba" to our asian/europeen fusion ones as our well-appreciated "lemon chicken". Our dishes provide you a home-cooked touch.
Bon appétit !
